Waterfowl Hunting
Interested in duck hunting in North Texas? Fannin County is one of the prime duck hunting areas in the state of Texas. With an abundance of agriculture and water, waterfowl thrive in the area throughout the winter months. Some species you might encounter at Wolf Creek are:
- Mallards
- Pintails
- Gadwalls
- Teal
- Red Head
- Wood Duck
- Ring Neck
- and a variety of other waterfowl that stop by on their way south.
Wolf Creek offers guided hunts with experienced guides and retrievers, and unguided hunts for the experienced hunter who just wants to find a place to escape to the outdoors.
The hunts will be conducted in permanent blinds, cattail stands, flooded timber and flooded agricultural fields. All bodies of water have water inlets and drains so water levels can be lowered to allow vegetation growth and then flooded for ideal waterfowl habitat.
